Sergio Morón Basoco is a distinguished dressage rider.
A native of Arnedo (La Rioja), Spain, he began riding at the age of 8 and trained in different disciplines such as show jumping, cross-country and later in dressage.
At the age of 14, he moved to Girona to train with the renowned coach Lauro Aguiló while continuing his studies.
In 2021, he reached third place in the FEI World Ranking of the International Equestrian Federation (FEI), and in 2022 he achieved a memorable first place at CHIO Aachen (Germany), considered a global benchmark and the cathedral of dressage.
From 2022 to 2024, he was based in the United Kingdom, where he trained with Olympic rider Carl Hester, combining this period with his studies in Business Administration and Management.
Between 2024 and March 2025, he moved to Germany to continue his training with Jonny Hilberath, a key figure in international equestrian sport, renowned for his role as assistant national coach of the German team.
For more than a decade, his career has been closely linked to Farnham, the horse with whom he competed at the highest international level and who played a key role in his greatest sporting achievements, bringing their partnership to a fitting close with his well-deserved retirement from competition in 2025.
Currently, Sergio continues to develop his career with Sack, Quatro, Vinicio, Fiona, and Elton, while also training new prospects, like Vayron, that are gradually joining the stables of Convixion.
